We were heading further east… but didn’t quite make it. In hopes of getting the right amount of sleep (for little hooman and big hoomans), we decided to stop instead of driving until midnight.
So here we are! Deschutes State Rec area! A kind ranger showed us the very last spot. Hooray!
We’ll wake up in the morning and see how beautiful this site is. All we can tell in the dark is that it’s very grassy, and the Deschutes river is very close (100′ away or so) and huge.
Side note for our future selves – this campground layout is weird. There aren’t traditional distinct sites, but rather big grassy “loops” with stakes around the edge with site numbers. It makes it really hard to tell what’s available.
Still, I’m glad we’re here. I’m glad we’re away. I’m glad we’re together in this beautiful pop up trailer!
