The Adventures of the Halstead Fam!

Eat, Sleep, Poop, Repeat

That’s been our pattern in life over the past 8 wks – eat, sleep, poop, repeat.  Well, Samuel’s schedule anyway.  We are on the verge of 2 months with our little adventure buddy and he is doing great!  Last week he weighed in at 9lbs 2oz & this past weekend he had his first play date with Grandma Lynn why we went to NCU to catch a glimpse at the music department’s Spring Desserts performance.  We all did great – even Grandma Lynn who got to experience a back-to-back poop and spit-up explosion.

One of the most exciting parts about the 2-month mark is that Samuel is starting to do more than cry and stare.  He is working up smiles and cooing, which is a nice little boost during the 3am diaper changes & feedings.  He is starting to be comfortable in his swing & playing on the floor.  Tummy time is still only acceptable on Daddy or Mommy’s chest, but he’s strong & lifting his head and looking around easily.  Every time he smiles, coos, looks around the room, or turns his head to a sound we get so excited!  Someday we will teach Sammy humility, but for not we are building up his ego with applause, smiles, and kisses every time he does pretty much anything.

In other family news, we currently purchased a giant 6-man tent for upcoming family camping adventures.  This sucker is HUGE!  Stead tried to set it up this weekend in our living room and it wouldn’t fit.  We’ve been brainstorming some potential spots for our first camping trip, but chances are before we go anywhere we will do a dry run in the backyard.  We can’t wait to share the great outdoors with our little adventure buddy!
