The Adventures of the Halstead Fam!

Summer has come and gone – WOW!

Hello all! It’s been a while since we’ve posted any news but that doesn’t mean our life hasn’t been full!

Here’s a quick summary of our life the past 6 months:

SPRING WAS HERE! And we both had the chance to lead mission trips with the INN. Stead went to the Dominican Republic and I went to Black Mesa, AZ. God moved in amazing ways and students had the chance to share their faith through service, story, and friendships.

I started school! Again. After a couple of years of thinking about it and waiting I jumped back into classes to prepare for graduate school. Now the time comes to apply and wait. I am hoping to study either mental health counseling or social work. We’ll apply, wait, and pray and see what happens!

SUMMER CAME! And we celebrated our 1st anniversary. After working at the Habitat for Humanity site in Ferndale we headed up to Mt. Baker to a bed and breakfast, shared a yummy dinner and a beautiful view of the mountain. The next day we went geocaching and camping at Silver Lake before heading home. A lovely, lovely love weekend.

Stead spent a lot of the summer running the INN summer program and driving bus for Rebound of Whatcom County’s summer program “Ray of Hope”. I spent the early summer months taking my final pre-grad school class.

We also celebrated 9 weddings! Each wedding was duoed with a camping adventure and a scooter ride. So wonderful!

As summer came to an end we went on a 2+ week road trip down to Santa Cruz, CA and back. We visited family, friends, backpacked the final leg of the Skyline to Sea trail, boogie boarded, biked, geocached (of course!), explored, and made lots of memories.

Now that fall is coming Stead is busy starting up another school year at the INN. I will be working at Camp Lutherwood reaching out to churches and youth groups to try and make better connections at camp.

Hope you all have enjoyed your summer and are soaking up every bit that is left of it. Love from us to you!
