The Adventures of the Halstead Fam!

Day 2 in Paris

Sarah already covered some of this, but the day after our bike tour was also great. We got a little bit of a late start, as we biked home and arrived at 1am from the previous day’s tour.

We filled this no-tour free day by riding more bikes, visiting Notre Dame, and re-visiting the Eifel Tower.

The tower is crazy tall. Even though we didn’t go up in it, it was nice to just still below it in the grass.

We even found a nearby geocache! It had 50 or so favorite points, but really wasn’t anything special.

Today, we woke up and biked to the train station. Of course, it would be a shame to leave a great food place like Paris without a few more pastries, so we swung by a bakery for a pain au chocolate, loaf of bacon bread, and a baguette for lunch.

I promptly placed the baguette in Sarah’s bike basket to fulfill her dream of riding a bike in Paris on a small street with a baguette!

How perfect!

Tonight we’ll be in Turin/Torino Italy. Fun fact, the T in FIAT stands for Torino (or some derivative). Not so fun fact, they do four factory tours a year, and it happens next week! Dang.

Torino does feature a large museum about Egypt. I’m pretty sure it will be closed by the time we arrive though. Dang!

France reminded me what it feels like to be in a place where you Dont speak the language. I can’t remember why we didn’t put Spain on our list! Oh well, next time.
